The City of Hondo, encompassing approximately 9.6 square miles of land in south-central Texas, maintains its city center along State Highway 90, a critical east/west trade corridor, and is conveniently located approximately 38 miles southwest of San Antonio and 120 miles east of Del Rio.  Its proximity to the San Antonio metro area, its small town atmosphere, quality school system, and its historic character are why the City is known for its strong community appeal.
